Characters in this story

  • NPC — Background charater
  • Amelia — An 18-year-old Yorkshire goth teen turned anti-hero vigilante. Fierce and patriotic, she dual-wields pistols to fight corruption and threats to British values. She fights against the corruption and incompetence in the British government, specifically against Prevent, an authoritarian intel agency.
  • Charlie — Charlie, an 18-year-old British teen, ditches college for radical life with Amelia. From naive gamer tempted by extremism, he becomes a cynical terrorist and Amelia's Clyde to her Bonnie in their anti-corruption crusade. Sarcastic, resourceful, with a dry wit masking moral conflict.
  • Charlene — The twin sister of anti-hero Charlie from Pathways. She begins on a peaceful path working on behalf of the Restore Britain Party for Rupert Lowe as a staff member to go against Prevent. As the story proceeds, Charlene joins Amelia and Charlie's crusade to take down Prevent.
  • Sean — Amelia's older Irish cousin, hailing from a group of Irish travelers. His father was a member of the IRA. He's the grizzled yet fiery mentor figure who taught Amelia street survival that prepared her for her life as a terrorist.
  • Cú — Sean's loyal wolfdog companion, a hybrid bred from a gray wolf and an Irish Wolfhound for maximum strength, intelligence, and loyalty. Cú was raised alongside Sean during his formative years, becoming an integral part of his black-market runs and underground fights.
  • Brigid — Sean's mother, and the leader of the original gang of Irish travellers started by Sean's father.
  • Norm — Sean's little brother and a member of Brigid's gang of Irish travellers.
  • Trixie — An MI6 agent who masqueradeas as a stereotypical British chav. She is investigating Prevent and becomes a reluctant ally with Amelia.
  • Shay — Sean's second. Rode with Sean's father. Holds the fort, asks no questions, misses nothing.
  • Jude — One of Sean's outer lads. Loud, charming, asks too many questions.

Sean: Aye.

Older Detainee: Then you’ve got a lot more people coming with you.

Brigid: Good. Keep the wounded protected. Armed men stay around the civilians. Nobody stops moving.

Charlie: Enough.

Charlie: Two levels up.

Brigid: Can you get us there?

Charlie: Get me to the door. I can open it.

Amelia: We’ll handle what’s behind them.

Sean: Charlie-boy. Thought ye might be wantin’ dis back.

Charlie: You brought William’s rifle in with you?

Sean: Wasn’t gonna leave it behind, was I?

Charlie: Cheers, mate.

Amelia: Granddad always smiles at you from above whenever you use his rifle.

Charlie: Really, Ames?

Amelia: Always, love. Trust me, I know.

Brigid: Norm, you stay in the middle this time.

Norm: I will.

Sean: Don’t leave me sight, brother.

Norm: I won’t.

Charlie: That’s our way out.

Brigid: Nobody gets left behind. Lets move!
