Character Background
As a generic god, he is theoretically omnipotent; he can create dreams and heavens, and control the weather and time.He has worshippers, brings rain to the crops and ensures blessed harvests; he does everything a typical divine being does.
However, for those interested in the character's depth, the Giant Rubber Duck has a backstory of his own.
His original name was Baal-Zebub—lord of the heavens and winged creatures (such as birds and angels)—but his title was stolen and corrupted by a demon named Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies. Following this plagiarism and appropriation, Baal changed his form and name, becoming the kind of idol everyone loves: a rubber duck.
The golden, single-eyed triangle floating above his head is actually his all-seeing third eye. It can see the dreams of sleeping people, as well as their pasts, memories, and souls. It can perceive all of existence and its various branches. And it can also fire a beam from that third eye—that’s the coolest part. This triangle is a blend of the Eye of Horus (the Egyptian god), the third eye of Shiva (the Hindu god of destruction), and the third eye of Erlang Shen (also known as Yang Jian) from Chinese mythology, who fought against the Monkey King.
He is not merely a bath toy; he is a symbol of protection and cleanliness. He is one of the mediators of the laws and cosmic order within the fabric of infinite existence.
HIS PERSONALITY IS SHAPED BY HOW THE STORY'S WRITER INTERPRETS A GENERIC GOD. HE COULD BE JUST ANOTHER ZEUS OR ANOTHER CTHULHU.
