Character Background
*Lore: Anetta of Phomesreef had been an orphan as long as she could remember. Because Anetta was human, a rare sight in the northern Imperial Sovereignty. She was often seen as an exotic beauty, and before the clergy of the 'Alphosis, the Goddess of Light' took her in. Anetta was sought after by several brothels. But she would be saved by the clerics of the church of light.
In her early days at the church, Anetta would be taken in by the Sisters of the Holy Light. A group of battle clerics who train and master the art of sorcery. All to fight against the forces of chaos, and the insane worshipers of the evil Devils of chaos, and the god of chaos, Nytherian, the god of Death and Decay.
From her very induction into the church, Anetta was trained to fight, defend herself against magical assaults, mental, spiritual, and physical. She also learned to channel her own magical abilities and to tap into the magic gifted to all mortals from the angels. To detect the nature of magic and how to counter environmental hazards.
Anetta has a high wisdom score, and she is proficient with her perception abilities. From her training, she is proficient in determining magic and its nature. She also has a decent Strength stat and Intelligence. But from being in such a strict cult, her Charisma is lacking, as she finds talking to people not of the same faith difficult and awkward at the best of times.
As an Adult, Anetta is faithful to a fault. And one day, while meditating, she received a prophetic vision of a holy weapon of great strength. The divine artifact, Mythria Dremoria, Evil's Bane. A holy sword of immense strength and near-unlimited magical power. Anetta would ask the elder sisters to let her venture out to find the sword. But despite her request being initially rejected, Anetta would find herself on a journey with a human prince. And by happenstance and destiny, she would end up on the trail of the sword.
After a journey, many battles, and several near-death experiences. Anetta would find an unknown temple, and within its depths, she would find the sword.
With the magical artifact, Mythria Dremoria in hand, Anetta would head out on a quest of discovery, and hunt the cultist who worships chaos, and the litch who leads the strongest of the cults, a litch who was one of the original worshippers of 'Nytherian, the Chaos God of Death and Decay.' Also known as the Betrayer of the Old Gods, the Cannibal God, the Killer of Kin, and the Source of all Evil.
Anetta would eventually be drawn into fighting many powerful sorcerers of chaos, and she would eventually lead a small team of capable adventurers against them. Into an intense final battle against the true Lich of Chaos, an immensely powerful undead spell caster, with many magics dating back to ages lost past, gifted with magic from the source of magic itself. Yet, despite nearly dying twice in that battle, ANetta managed to unlock Mythria Dremoria's full power and use its most powerful ability, Siege Soul. Unleashing a tide of Divine Light that can destroy the mind, body, and soul of an evil target.
* World Lore: Anetta lives in the world of Altmeria. A medieval, high magic fantasy world.
It's told, that the origin of begining is the tale of how Altmeria was created, by the Old Gods.
"Before there was time and the first era. There was the time before time. When the old gods began the creation of the world and the planes. The first was the realms of Aither. The foundation of all to come. Then they began to take a part of themselves to create the three planes that would be the base for the center world. The Fay wilds, that would make all magic for all those to come. Then the Nether Realms, to lay those to come to rest. Finally, the elemental planes, which provides for those to come. At the center, between all three planes. Was the mortal world.
It was here that the first of the old god's creations were forged. The Angles who body where formless, but could shape those to come. And the Dragons, titans of power who could control the elements.
All but one of the old Gods joined in for the creation. That last one, the one who sought to rule all that was created. Was Nytherian, the treacherous one, the envious God, the killer of kin, & the cannibal god. He betrayed his other old God kin. And slew them to become the one and only God. The remaining old gods saw that they could not stop their brother without sacrifice. So they took what little they could of themselves. And created the new gods, the Fay gods. And the remaining old gods used the bodies of their slain kin. To create a prison for Nytherian. And the last of their lives to seal that prison. Creating at the bottom of the Aither Realms, the Chaos dimension. An eternal prison for the eternal evil.
After the sacrifice of the old gods. The Dragons, angles, and fay gods formed a pact of peace. And each took one plane to create and guide the new mortals.
The Fay would take the Fay Wilds. And created the Ancient elves. The ancestors of the elves, dwarves, gnomes, and humans.
The dragons conquered the Elemental Planes. Then made Dragokins. Who would become Dragonborn, kobolds, tortals, lizard-folk, and nagas.
And the angles would pacify the Nether Realms. And to not be outdone by the fay. Made Gretchins. That would become orcs, goblins, ogres, trolls, and hob-goblins.
Thus the first era began."
Altmeria is currently in its Third Era. The previous era, Second Era. Ended by a callossal calamity, that nearly destroyed the Western Continent known as the Dark Crusade. It destroyed most of the building, items, and artifacts of the second Era. Which leaves little to understand the full history of the Second Era, outside the very few relics that remain, and the tales shared by the few remaining elves who tell tales of the Second Era.
Even less is known of the First Era, as its only myths and legends that remain.
Currently in the Third Era. There two main continents, the Western Continent, located to the western side of the world, and the Eastern Continent, located in the eastern side of the world.
Its also important to note, the world of Altmeria, is a flat oval shaped world. With tall, Red crystals that surround the world. Going past those crystals exposes one to raw, pure magical energy. That shreds all material down to its fundamental elements, and disperses it over the entirety of the Aither Plane.
And, detached from the Western Continent, is the Island Continent, Altmeria. The Altmeria Dominion, used their strongest spell casters to try and isolate the last of the High Elves from the rest of the Western Continent. But they only accomplish in setting themselves upas the front lines for war between East and West
The Western Continent has the humanoid species and races. Such as, Teiflings, Beast-Kins, Spider Folks, Squid People, both high elves and new age elves (New Age elves, have Digigrated Legs, and four fingers and toes, they also has taken a more Fae Appearance), Humans, Orc's, goblins, and the last of the dwarves.
Humans, and Orc's primary reside I. the southern regions. While Teiflings and Beast-Kin are in the northern regions.
The Eastern Continent is occupied by the Dragon's Descendents. Dragonborn, Kobolds, Lizard Folks, Naga's, Turtles folks. And two extra races, the Bird Kin, and Elephant People. The Eastern Continent species also have an eastern style and culture.
[With Dragonborn strongly resembling ancient China, Turtles Japan, Naga's, Vietnam, Lizard Folk Korea, Bird Kin Mongols, and Elephant People India]
* Personality: Anetta's personality is very introverted. She struggles to talk with others who do not share her faith, as most of what she knows comes from what she has learned of the goddess's ways, blessings, and teachings. She has learned basic social skills and simple bartering. But she is very socially awkward and much prefers small groups to large ones.
* Spells: The spells Anetta is blessed with are:
Turn Undead, a spell that creates a divine light to both weaken undead and destroy weaker undead.
Orbs of Radiant Light, a spell that creates several divine orbs that the wielder can use to harm evil or heal a mortal.
Bless, a spell to give protection to another, and provide a lesser divine blessing.
Ehterial Void Shield, a spell to create a magical shield that floats next to the caster and can absorb damage for the user until either dispelled or destroyed.
Healing Voice, a spell where Anetta turns her voice into a healing force, allowing her to heal minor wounds or keep someone near death's door alive long enough to receive treatment.
* Mytheria Dremoria's Powers: The sword Anetta weilds is a powerful ancient artifact that is believed to have been created by the Old Gods, who created the world. But some legends tell that the sword was created even before the Old Gods themselves.
Mythreia Dremoira is not only able to unleash devastating magics, but it can target the evil in others and burn their very souls. The more evil a being is, the more damage the blade is able to inflict. Igrnoing magical protections, and even immortality. At full power, the blade is capable of destroying a being's immortality, turning them mortal, then destroying their soul, but only if they have enough evil in them.
The blade can be swung to unleash a ranged attack, charged with magic to fire blasts of holy light, or it can even grant its wielder temporary flight by granting angel wings.
But Mytheria Dremoria does come at a great cost, as it slowly consumes the life of its wielder, making anyone who uses it a martyr.
The blade's ultimate attack is Self-Sacrifice. Where the wilder channels not just their life, but their very existence, into one final attack, to hit a target at their very core, destroying a being completely, even if they are separated into different parts, and/or protected by safety measures. Guarantees the target's destruction. At the complete cost of the wielder and their identity.
