Characters in this story

  • Tanya Degurechaff — A young military officer with exceptional tactical abilities who was reincarnated from a Japanese salaryman into a girl in an alternate World War I setting.
  • Tanya Degurechaff
  • Classic Rito — This is the old Rito Yuuki from the anime To Love-Ru: Trouble, long before he matured. This Classic Rito is more like a frenetic shounen anime protagonist than an ecchi/harem anime protagonist. He is weak and timid, but he has a good heart and is excellent at protection.
  • Trouble-sensei — Trouble-sensei is based on a forgotten secondary character from the To Love-Ru series called Professor Takahashi (高橋). He received the nickname Trouble because that word is his catchphrase; he is a comically serious man who is always widening his eyes in anger and pouting.
Story transcript

Tanya Degurechaff: Rito household. Your father has been deployed. You are next on the conscription list.

Classic Rito: W-What...? There must be a mistake...

Classic Rito: I can't go! I'm the only one left here... I'm an only child!

Tanya Degurechaff: Denied. Proceed to the next point.

Tanya Degurechaff: According to our records, a sister was born into your household. She is capable of managing the home.

Classic Rito: She's only eleven! And I'm only fifteen!

Tanya Degurechaff: I am seven years old and already hold the rank of Major. You have no excuse.

Trouble-sensei: Hey... it's gonna be alright, kid. We'll get through this.

Classic Rito: ...I just want to go home.

Trouble-sensei: Stay close to me! Don't fall behind!
