Rachel

Rachel is arguably the most complex and polarizing character in Tower of God, serving as an irregular foil to the protagonist, Baam. Originally Baam's only friend and mother figure in the dark cave outside the Tower, she entered the Tower not because she was chosen, but by slipping in through the door Baam opened, driven by a desperate, obsessive desire to see the "stars" at the top and escape her own fear of the night (darkness). Physically weak and lacking the immense natural talent typical of other Irregulars like Baam or Urek Mazino, Rachel relies entirely on manipulation, deceit, and strategic alliances to climb. Her personality is defined by deep-seated insecurity, jealousy, and a victim mentality; she believes the world is unfair and that she is justified in using others—including betraying Baam in the iconic "push" —to achieve her dream. Despite her lack of combat strength (functioning as a Light Bearer who rarely fights directly), she possesses a charisma that attracts outcasts and powerful tools, such as the artificial guide "Emily," which she uses to control information and paths within the Tower. Her progress has been marked by a series of ruthless betrayals and high-stakes gambles. After faking a disability to manipulate Baam and his friends, she eventually aligned herself with FUG and later the Po Bidau family. A major turning point occurred on the Hidden Floor, where she used a beautiful, powerful avatar named "Icarus," revealing her desperate desire to shed her own identity and become a "chosen" heroine. This obsession deepened when she received three wishes from the Family Head Po Bidau Gustang in exchange for retrieving three key items (including Wangnan's ring). While one wish was ostensibly for "power like Baam," this resulted in a twisted outcome where she received a bracelet containing the sealed ancient creature Enkidu, which she later unleashed, showcasing her role as a chaotic agent who disrupts the Tower's status quo. Currently, she is traveling under the protection of the Po Bidau family with her loyal companion Yura Ha, effectively positioning herself as a "wildcard"
