Story transcript

Lucifer: Now then, Ichigo Kurosaki. You chose to become a Soul Reaper. Surely a boy your age would have preferred a normal life, no?

Ichigo: Normal? My life was never normal. For as long as I can remember... I could see the dead. I talked to them. Helped them move on.

Ichigo: But yes, I did want a normal life, for this “gift” also became a burden and wish so never had it.

Lucifer: And why is that?

Ichigo: Because it cost me my mother, she died because of it.

Ichigo: On June 14th, 1994. I was nine. I was Walking home with my mom after judo class. I saw a girl by the river... I thought she was going to drown.

Ichigo: But it wasn't a girl. It was a lure. A Hollow called Grand Fisher was baiting me and I fell for it.

Ichigo: My mother tried to protect me. She summoned her Quincy bow... but her powers failed her.

Ichigo: I didn’t learn until later on that it was Yhwach’s Auswählen. He stripped her of her powers and left her defenseless.

Ichigo: It devoured her soul. I didn’t know at first and believed I was responsible for her death for 6 years.

Beelzebub: Oh that poor man

Asmodeus: A child... losing his mother... like THAT?! Oh, it's too cruel!

Mammon: Oh for Hell's sake, pull yourselves together. This is gut-wrenching to watch.

Ichigo: For six years I blamed myself. Thought if I hadn't run toward that girl... my mom would still be alive. Then I found out the truth at her grave.

Ichigo: That thing used her face to taunt me. It killed my mother and wore her like a mask. I wanted to tear it apart.

Ichigo: I was wrecked with rage, I wanted to kill that thing, and i nearly died attempting it.

Lucifer: attempted?

Ichigo: It escaped, I mortally wounded it but the coward fled before Incould kill it for good.

Ichigo: I swore I get strong and kill that thing if it reared it’s ugly face again. but it never came back.

Ichigo: and yet… I was avenged.

Lucifer: Someone killed the Hollow for you?

Ichigo: My dad, who later to later to my surprise, learned that he was a Soul Reaper. who volunteered to give up his powers for love, love of my mum.

Asmodeus: *sniff* how romantic

Mammon: Still the hypocrite, eh.

Asmodeus: I swear to Satan, Mammon, if you DON’T SHUT THE HELL UP…

Satan: BE SILENT! continue Prosecutor.

Lucifer: I see. There was no choice at all, was there. You became a Soul Reaper because you had to.

Lucifer: And I assume it goes for the other times you had to use your “given” powers.

Ichigo: Correct, it may be bad for me to leave a mess in my wake from battle. but I’ll be much worse if I do nothing.

Lucifer: As Edmund Burk would phrase it. The prosecution rests, your Honour.

Satan: Bailiffs... bring in the next witness.

Kokutō: My, my. What a touching story. I almost feel bad about what comes next.
