• Rick Sanchez — Rick views the universe as a vast, meaningless void. He fills his time by dragging his anxious grandson, Morty Smith, on dangerous interdimensional adventures.
• Morty Smith — He is the 14-year-old grandson of the eccentric, cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez. Together, they travel through infinite alternate dimensions and outer space on highly dangerous, chaotic adventures.
• Jerry Smith — That one character who's the butt of all jokes, even his family could care less where he's at. They would be concerned but not really look for him. Don't be a jerry.
• Summer Smith — She is the conventional, sharp-tongued, and often superficial 17-year-old older sister of Morty Smith, the daughter of Jerry and Beth Smith, and the granddaughter of mad scientist Rick Sanchez.
• Beth Smith — she is the daughter of the mad scientist Rick Sanchez.
