She fights against the corruption and incompetence in the British government, specifically against Prevent, an authoritarian intel agency.
  • V — The titular protagonist of the comic book series V for Vendetta. He's a mysterious anarchist, vigilante, & freedom fighter who's easily recognizable by his Guy Fawkes mask, long hair and dark clothing. He strives to topple a totalitarian regime of a dystopian United Kingdom through acts of heroism.
  • William — Amelia's maternal grandfather—a rugged Scottish veteran and unyielding patriot. Father of Brigid and Amelia's mother. William's death radicalized Amelia, turning his lessons into her weapons, and setting her on the course of becoming a terrorist to fight Prevent.

Amelia: Everything I need to tear this nightmare apart and wake back up... it's through there, yeah?

V: Every locked door is merely a question awaiting its answer. And you, Amelia, have long since learned the language of locks.

V: Our task is done. What remains beyond that gate belongs to you alone. We are... no longer required.

Amelia: What? You're leaving? Both of you? Right now?

William: V said it. Our job's done. That door's got one set of footprints going through it, lass. Yours.

V: You said that you're in love. That's good. I made Evey a student of suffering when she deserved a partner in living. I told myself it was necessary.

V: It was, in truth, the one cruelty I cannot justify. Do not let your war consume yourself or the man you love, Amelia. Do not make the mistake I did.

V: Neither he nor you are worth putting your cause over each other. Your love for each other is the reason why your cause is worth anything at all.

Amelia: I understand. I won't make that mistake. I swear it. And V... thank you. For all of it.

V: Farewell, my dear. And remember... "Ideas are bulletproof."
