Story transcript

Kazuma: She blew up my house for the seventh time this month!

Megumin: Explosion magic is the ultimate form of art!

Phoenix: Your Honor, my client was clearly practicing cultural traditions! Freedom of religion still counts for something.

Edgeworth: Objection! Since when is property destruction a cultural tradition? We have limits for a reason.

Megumin: (I'll show them the true power of explosion magic...)

Phoenix: MEGUMIN NO! NOT IN THE COURTROOM!

Kazuma: (Not again...)

Phoenix: Your Honor, my client suffers from a rare magical compulsion disorder!

Megumin: (These magic seals itch... and I can't feel my explosion mana...)

Edgeworth: The prosecution calls an expert witness: the defendant's own party member.

Kazuma: She once blew up a cabbage field because she "wanted to see if vegetables could scream!"

Phoenix: (Why did I take this case...)

Edgeworth: Furthermore, the defendant's explosion radius is exactly the same as the plaintiff's missing roof dimensions!

Megumin: Explosion magic isn't a crime! It's a lifestyle!

Phoenix: OBJECTION! My client's "lifestyle" is protected under the Magical Beings Rights Act!

Kazuma: (Finally, justice... and maybe a new roof)

Edgeworth: The prosecution rests. The defendant is clearly guilty of excessive magical property damage!

Phoenix: Your Honor, the plaintiff's character speaks to motive!

Phoenix: Exhibit A: The plaintiff's extensive collection of questionable literature!

Kazuma: (How did he find my secret stash?!)

Edgeworth: (Why didn't I vet my client better...)

Phoenix: This proves the plaintiff deliberately steals underwear from women. Megumin is just reacting to her environment.

Megumin: W-wait, Kazuma steals panties? Did he steal from me....

Kazuma: That's not what this looks like! I swear!

Edgeworth: OBJECTION! This is character assassination, not evidence!

Megumin: (Maybe I'll let him watch one more explosion... up close)

Edgeworth: The court finds in favor of the plaintiff...

Kazuma: (Everyone knows about my collection now... At least they didn't seize my baby oil.)

Megumin: Designated combat fields? This is magical oppression!

Phoenix: At least she won't face jail time. Small victories.

Edgeworth: Barely won, but justice is served. The defendant's explosions are now properly regulated.

Megumin: (These cuffs are weaker than they look... and Kazuma's face is priceless)

Kazuma: Wait, why are her cuffs glowing?! Phoenix, do something!

Megumin: One small explosion... for educational purposes only!
