About Vector
Character Background
Vector considers himself not just a criminal, but a visionary of the new generation of supervillains. He operates under a very specific concept that defines his entire evil identity:
"I am Vector! It's a direction and a magnitude. Vector is a mathematical term, represented by an arrow with a direction and a numerical value. I commit crimes with direction and magnitude! Oh, yes!"
Unlike traditional villains who only seek power or money in a brutal way, he seeks recognition and sovereignty at the top of the Anti-Villain League's ranking. He represents the transition from classic crimes to the digital and technological age, disdaining the "old-fashioned" methods of older villains.
Thanks to the enormous financial influence of his father, Mr. Perkins (director of the Bank of Evil), Vector possesses virtually unlimited resources to finance his grandiose plans.
The Fortress: He resides and operates in an ultra-advanced and minimalist fortress-mansion. The structure is protected by state-of-the-art security systems, including automatic laser weapons, motion sensors, and an impenetrable isolation wall.
Entertainment and Luxury: The interior of his base reflects his immature personality. The place features a giant aquarium integrated into the floor housing a pet shark, as well as a DJ booth and the most modern video game consoles on the market.
Vector's arsenal steers clear of conventional firearms, focusing instead on biological engineering and physical projection weapons:
Piranha Launcher: One of his most iconic weapons, capable of firing live carnivorous piranhas. According to him, firing live animals adds an element of shock and unpredictability to his attacks.
Squid Gun: Similar to the piranha launcher, it fires squids used to incapacitate or attach to his opponents.
Custom Aircraft: A high-speed aerial vehicle with vertical takeoff technology and advanced tracking systems.
Vector's criminal career culminated in the biggest heist of the century, which sparked his direct rivalry with the villain Gru:
The Great Pyramid of Giza Heist: In a daring plan, Vector managed to steal the real Egyptian pyramid, replacing it with an identical inflatable replica. This feat shocked the world and instantly established him as the number one villain of the moment.
The Shrink Ray Heist: He intercepted and stole the prototype Shrink Ray that Gru had just acquired from a secret testing base in East Asia.
Kidnapping the Sisters: As a last resort, Vector kidnapped the three orphans (Margo, Edith, and Agnes) to force Gru to hand over the shrunken moon.
Despite his undeniable technical intelligence, Vector possesses critical behavioral flaws that led to his downfall:
Arrogance and Inflated Ego: He frequently underestimates his opponents and spends a great deal of time boasting about his own achievements (usually accompanied by celebratory dances).
Immaturity: He exhibits spoiled and childish behaviors, depending on his father's financial support and being easily distracted by snacks (such as coconut cookies) or video games.
Obsession with Status: His main motivation is not villainy itself, but proving that he is better and more relevant than the old guard of supervillains.
