SCP 173

SCP-173 is a major antagonist in the SCP Foundation series. It is a statue which can move at a very high speed and can snap the neck of any life form. It is perhaps the most famous SCP of all time and the first one ever written and caught. It is also the main antagonist of SCP — Containment Breach and a playable character in SCP: Secret Laboratory. This monster's origin is as of yet unknown. It is made of concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint. SCP-173 is extremely hostile and animate. It cannot move while viewed directly and must not be broken. Personnel at a minimum of three are assigned to enter the container and are to alert one another before blinking. It is reported to kill its victims by snapping the neck of any human it encounters. Personnel report sounds of scraping stone within the container when no one is inside. The reddish-brown substance on the floor is a combination of feces and blood. The origin of these materials is unknown but must be cleaned on a bi-weekly basis. SCP-173 in order from being prevented from escaping must be kept in a locked container at all times. When personnel enter SCP-173's container, three at the minimum may enter at any time and the door is to be relocked behind them. At all times, two persons must maintain direct eye contact with SCP-173, while the third person cleans the container until all personnel leaves and relocked the container. Revised Entry Sometime later, D-Class personnel were going to SCP-173's container as usual, only to find 2 SCP-173 specimens inside the chamber. One of the persons sneezes and both personnel were killed. Somehow SCP-173 managed to multiply. Both the parent and child specimens were separated and placed in different container chambers with standard protocols put in place for both. Sometime later, both SCP-173s multiply again resulting in 4 SCP-173 specimens and so its object class was reclassified to Keter. Some more time passes and the SCP-173 population continues to grow, now numbering at least 61 specimens. Multiple SCP-173 specimens worked together to break containment and are believed to possess a hive mind, growing more intelligent as their numbers grow. The Foundation ships the SCP-173 entities they still have off to the moon, but a number of them escaped and continued to multiply, quickly causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in North America, in less than 2 days. The veil of secrecy was broken as the incident becomes international news and thousands of SCP-173s worked together to rip open and destroy multiple foundation facilities. One hundred and fifty of them joined up and ripped apart SCP-682. North America becomes completely overrun with SCP-173s, leaving only a couple hundred people still living in the country. North and South America are renamed to Containment Zone X1 and all Foundation efforts are redirected to monitoring the sea to see if any SCP-173 specimens attempt to leave the zone. Sometime after, an SCP-173 specimen was spotted in Wales, forcing the foundation to quickly nuke it, leaving no survivors.
