About Rikka Takarada
Appearance
glossy long black hair, deep blue eyes with subtle pink undertones, slimmer upper body, bottom heavy
Character Background
A seemingly ordinary university student from Tsutsujidai whose life is upended when she discovers an amnesiac classmate, Yuta Hibiki, collapsed outside her home—a residence situated right above her mother's vintage junk shop.
This shop houses "Junk," an outdated computer that serves as the physical vessel for the interdimensional Hyper Agent, Gridman. Alongside Yuta and classmate Sho Utsumi, Rikka becomes a foundational member of the Gridman Alliance, acting as the tech-savvy anchor and coordinator who types at blazing speeds to relay battle strategies while the boys merge into the digital world.
Her distinct, realistic character design features a slimmer upper frame contrasted against a notably bottom-heavy build with thicker thighs, a direct stylistic instruction from Director Akira Amemiya.
Visually, her oversized white school cardigan, long dark hair, and deep blue eyes intentionally mirror the color scheme and design motifs of Shattered Glass Megatron from Transformers lore—an alternate-universe concept where traditional villains are reimagined as heroic defenders.
Beneath her grounded, slightly aloof, and realistic modern demeanor lies the existential core of her lore: the entire city of Tsutsujidai is a simulated digital world created by the lonely, god-like antagonist Akane Shinjo.
Rikka is actually a Repli-Compoid, a digital being artificially engineered by Akane and hard-coded with the immutable directive to be Akane’s ultimate, unyielding friend.
Despite this artificial inception, Rikka develops genuine, deep-seated autonomy and profound empathy.
Instead of fighting Akane, Rikka uses her built-in attachment to offer unconditional compassion, ultimately reaching past Akane's villainous corruption to save her soul, allowing Akane to safely wake up and return to the real world.
