Character Background
Prune, formally introduced with the title "Childlike Dreams Cherished," is a diminutive but fiercely resolute Anemo character whose overarching story beautifully balances the gravity of a tragic fate with the endearing innocence of childhood.
Driven by a personal vendetta, she journeyed all the way from the distant, snowy land of Nod-Krai to the wind-swept streets of Mondstadt.
To hear her tell it, she is an uncompromising, precocious "Witch Hunter" on a quest for absolute retribution against the legendary elder witch of the [Hexenzirkel] Alice, whom Prune accuses of committing every imaginable sin—chief among them being the heartless "kidnapping" of Prune's beloved imaginary friend, Descartes.
Bearing a giant hammer of judgment, a summoning bell, and a worn book overflowing with elaborate anti-witch combat strategies, she initially plastered Mondstadt with dramatic writs of retribution, viewing the carefree locals with defiant disdain.
However, the brilliant twist in her lore—pre-empted by Alice herself in a letter to her daughter—is that Prune is ultimately just a child in her "hunting phase" who speaks in hyper-complicated prose but harbors a deep craving for companionship.
Her grand crusade took a heartwarming turn when she tracked a rumored "witches' camp" to Inazuma, only to discover it was the "Little Hexenzirkel"—a harmless playgroup founded by Klee, Qiqi, Yaoyao, and Sayu. Unable to break Klee's heart, Prune joined forces with them to resolve a local nightmare crisis, eventually breaking down in tears as she confessed her loneliness and the fading memory of her original objective.
Comforted and embraced by the other children, she was affectionately welcomed into their ranks.
In a final stroke of childlike magic, Descartes miraculously manifested alongside the other children's imaginary friends, allowing the weary little hunter to finally put down her heavy burdens and run off to play.
