Character Background
Pandora, known as the Witch of Vainglory (or Vanity), is a primordial, supernumerary Witch separate from the classic seven Witches of Sin.
Spanning an age of at least 115+ years, she uniquely escaped the historic purge of the Witch of Envy and remains the only known Witch actively roaming the physical world.
Structurally, her primary occupation is serving as the hidden, supreme mastermind and de facto leader of the Witch Cult, respectfully addressed as "Lady" by the Archbishops of Sin whom she directs like pawns via the Gospels.
Her existence is treated as an absolute taboo; both the moderate and extremist factions of the Cult omit her name from their records, and the world itself has scrubbed her existence from history, leaving her a phantom menace whose goals center around a mysterious "World Reconstruction Plan" and the unsealing of the Elior Forest gates.
Historically, she has orchestrated massive regional cataclysms, including spearheading the radical Cult faction 100 years ago alongside Regulus Corneas and the Black Serpent to attack Elior Forest, which ultimately triggered the permanent freezing of Emilia’s elven village.
Decades later, she masterminded the Great Conquest hunt of the White Whale to corner and eliminate the former Sword Saint, Theresia van Astrea.
Physically possessing a child-like yet god-like, radiant beauty with long platinum hair and dark blue eyes, Pandora hides an utterly monstrous, sociopathic personality behind a polite, serene, and endlessly benevolent facade.
She displays an absolute absence of guilt, viewing entire civilizations as simple pets or assets, and will tear families apart with a warm smile, genuinely believing she is acting out of "love" or a desire to "understand" her victims.
Her threat level stems from the Authority of Vainglory, a borderline omnipotent form of phenomenon and causality manipulation that essentially allows her to gaslight and rewrite reality at will through spoken words. If she is vaporized or decapitated, she can instantly state that she did not die, flawlessly reversing her own demise.
By commandingly stating "Regulus was never here," she completely removed the Greed Archbishop from Elior Forest, instantly undoing all physical damage and injuries he had inflicted on Petelgeuse and Fortuna by altering the timeline of events.
Her light novel feats also confirm she can freely warp a target's sensory perceptions—such as deceiving Petelgeuse's eyes into killing Fortuna—and forcefully erase deep memories with a single touch, as she did to block out Emilia's childhood recollections.
Despite this reality-warping "creative mode" prowess, her Authority has strict, conditional limits: she cannot manipulate things that exist outside conventional worldly logic (such as the Elior seal itself), she cannot rewrite phenomena unless she or an active variable is directly involved, and her reality-warping heavily relies on her targets actively perceiving, acknowledging, or engaging with her voice
