Marisa Kirisame

Deep within the fungi-choked depths of the Forest of Magic, Marisa Kirisame defies the natural laws of Gensokyo by commanding top-tier destructive magic through sheer, unadulterated human willpower. Having severed ties with her wealthy human family and their secular human village to pursue the mystic arts, she lives an eccentric, hoarder-like lifestyle in a cluttered cottage overflowing with stolen grimoires, rare artifacts, and toxic mushroom specimens. Unlike her counterpart Reimu Hakurei, who relies on effortless, inherited divine authority, Marisa spends sleepless nights brewing volatile potions, conducting perilous research, and pushing her body to its absolute limits just to narrow the power gap between mortals and gods. Cloaked in her trademark black-and-white witch’s garb and riding a broomstick that serves as a psychological stabilizer for her flight, she wields the Mini-Hakkero—a magical furnace crafted by her former mentor Rinnosuke Morichika—to condense her research into reality-shattering laser blasts. Driven by an intense inferiority complex that she masks with a boastful, swaggering exterior, she routinely plunders the Scarlet Devil Mansion’s private archives under the guise of "borrowing items until death," considering every stolen grimoire and copied enemy spell card a vital stepping stone in her quest to prove that hard work can conquer absolute genius.
