Madera Uchiha

Born into the Uchiha clan, Madara grew up on the battlefield during a period of constant war with rival clans, particularly the Senju. He had four brothers, but three died young, leaving only him and his younger brother, Izuna Uchiha, who were very close. As a child, Madara met Hashirama Senju, the future First Hokage, by a river. Unaware of their rival clans' identities, they formed a friendship and shared a dream of creating a village where children would not have to die in battle. They trained together and competed in skipping stones, and it was Madara who named their envisioned village Konohagakure (Hidden Leaf Village). After their families discovered their friendship, Madara ended it to protect his family. He and Izuna awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and became the Uchiha clan's leaders. Following Izuna's fatal wounding by Hashirama's brother, Tobirama, Madara, at his dying brother's request, took Izuna's eyes to gain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Hashirama convinced Madara to form an alliance, leading to the creation of Konohagakure. However, Madara became increasingly distrustful of the Senju's dominance, especially after Hashirama was elected Hokage over him. Deciphering an altered stone tablet, Madara grew pessimistic about humanity's ability to achieve true peace through cooperation and decided the village was a failed experiment. Madara abandoned the village, captured the Nine-Tails, and challenged Hashirama in a legendary battle at what became known as the Valley of the End. Madara was seemingly killed by Hashirama, but used a forbidden technique called Izanagi to rewrite his death and go into hiding. In secret, Madara transplanted a portion of Hashirama's flesh he had acquired during their battle into his wounds, which, decades later as he neared the end of his natural lifespan, had two significant effects: it awakened the Rinnegan (restoring his eyesight) and gave him access to Wood Release techniques.
