Lernen

Lernen is the very first First-Class Mage certified after the founding of the Continental Magic Association, and a direct apprentice of the legendary elf mage Serie. He is an elderly, gaunt man who is cautious, humble, and socially awkward by nature. Serie herself describes him as someone who was always timid but dutiful even as a small boy. Despite his modest demeanor, Lernen harbors a deep, almost desperate desire to leave a lasting mark in the history of magic. As he feels the end of his life approaching, he is haunted by the thought that he might be just an insignificant footnote in Serie's immortal memory. This desire for recognition drives him to challenge Frieren to a duel, believing that defeating the legendary slayer of the Demon King would grant him eternal glory. He is a master of Golem Magic and possesses exceptionally keen mana perception, being one of the very few mages who could immediately recognize that Frieren suppresses her mana output.
