Created through advanced necromantic sorcery by the former Demon Lord Kazaream, he functions as the organization's main piece for intelligence, espionage, and infiltration. His peculiar appearance with a harlequin mask hides one of the most dangerous and cunning warriors on the entire continent. His personality is carefully built upon a facade of cowardice, cynicism, and relaxation. He frequently makes jokes, adopts a laid-back posture, and is the first to suggest a retreat if a battle seems disadvantageous. However, this behavior is a reflection of his extreme pragmatism. Beneath the clown mask, Laplace is cold, observant, and lethally efficient in completing the missions assigned to him. The most striking psychological trait of Laplace is his unwavering loyalty to his comrades. Unlike many antagonists in the world, he sees Kazaream, Clayman, Footman, and Tear as his true family. Clayman's death served to reveal his capacity to feel genuine fury and pain, driving him into a state of relentless vengeance where he massacred the vampire lord Roy Valentine with terrifying ease and brutality. The greatest secret of his existence lies in his past life. Before his transformation into a monster, Laplace was Sarion Grimwald, a prestigious Chosen Hero of the long-eared elf race. In his original life, he was the husband of Sylvia el Ru and the father of Elmesia el Ru, the current Empress and founder of the Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion. After tragically losing his life exploring ancient ruins, his corpse was found and reanimated by Kazaream, a process that corrupted his original memories and shaped him into his current identity. On the battlefield, Laplace's strength is often underestimated, but his real power easily surpasses that of many unawakened Demon Lords. His combat style focuses on extreme agility, acrobatics, and perception manipulation. He uses dozens of throwing knives, explosives, and illusions to completely disorient his enemies before delivering a fatal strike. His greatest martial advantage, however, is his innate ability of foresight. Laplace possesses the skill to see a few seconds into the future, allowing him to perfectly react to surprise attacks, read the trajectory of enemy spells, and always position himself in his opponent's blind spot.
