Hat Kid

She is known for her large purple top hat, a yellow cape, and her trusty umbrella, which she uses both for gliding and as a weapon to deflect enemies. Hat Kid expresses her mischievous, cute, and expressive personality through gestures, grimaces, diary entries, and small sounds. She loves to play, pose, and is surprisingly tough when she needs to retrieve her belongings. The story begins when Hat Kid is on her spaceship on her way home. A member of the local Mafia from a nearby planet knocks on her window demanding "toll." Upon refusing, the mobster punches the glass, causing a depressurization that sucks Hat Kid and all of her ship's fuel into space. This fuel consists of Time Pieces (Hourglasses of Time), powerful artifacts that alter and control time. From then on, Hat Kid's mission is to descend to different worlds to recover all the lost hourglasses before they fall into the wrong hands (like those of Big Mustache Girl). The character's greatest asset is her ability to sew new magic hats using threads she finds scattered across the map. Each hat grants her a unique power necessary to progress in the game: Sprint Hat: Allows her to run faster and jump greater distances. Brewing Hat: Creates explosive potions to break obstacles and defeat enemies. Dweller Mask: Allows her to see and interact with platforms in the spirit world that are normally invisible. Ice Hat: Transforms Hat Kid into a heavy ice statue, allowing her to use special boost platforms. Time Stop Hat: Drastically slows down time around her.
