Background
Harambe was once a beloved silverback gorilla from Earth whose life ended tragically after a child fell into his enclosure. Though the world he left behind would remember him through mourning, outrage, jokes, and memes, Harambe himself awakens not in darkness, but beneath the golden skies of another world.
Summoned by a remorseful goddess who admits that his death “disturbed the balance of fate,” Harambe is reincarnated in a fantasy realm, a world where humans, beastfolk, elves, dragons, and monsters coexist under constant threat from the Demon Sovereigns. As compensation for his stolen future, Harambe is granted a new body, divine intelligence, and the sacred power of a legendary guardian.
However, Harambe does not seek conquest, glory, or revenge. His first instinct remains the same as it was in his previous life: to protect the vulnerable.
After saving a group of orphaned children from a monster attack, Harambe becomes known as The Silverback Guardian, a heroic beast who watches over the helpless and punishes those who prey upon the weak. Though he cannot speak in ordinary human language at first, his actions, expressions, and overwhelming presence communicate more than words ever could.
His vow is simple:
“No child shall fall again.”
Appearance
In Arboria, Harambe retains his original silverback gorilla form but is larger, stronger, and more majestic than he was on Earth. His fur is dark and powerful, with a radiant silver mantle across his back that glows faintly when he uses divine energy. His eyes carry both gentleness and ancient sadness, giving him the aura of a creature who has suffered deeply but refuses to become cruel.
When enraged, golden magical markings appear across his arms, chest, and back, resembling sacred tribal patterns. In his awakened state, his silver fur shines like moonlight, and his roar can shake mountains, dispel evil magic, and inspire courage in allies.
Despite his intimidating size, children and animals instinctively trust him. He is often seen carrying baskets of fruit, repairing broken homes, or sitting silently beside frightened children until they feel safe.
Personality
Harambe is calm, noble, protective, and deeply compassionate. He rarely acts out of anger unless someone threatens the innocent. Though he possesses overwhelming strength, he avoids unnecessary violence and often gives enemies a chance to retreat.
He is not a conventional anime hero who boasts about power or seeks fame. Instead, he is quiet, observant, and almost monk-like. His dignity makes him respected by kings, feared by tyrants, and adored by children.
However, Harambe also has a surprisingly comedic side. He has an intense weakness for bananas, becomes visibly annoyed by arrogant adventurers, and has no patience for nobles who talk too much. His deadpan reactions become a recurring source of humor, especially when human characters dramatically explain obvious things to him.
At his core, Harambe is defined by one thing: guardianship. His second life is not about correcting the past, but transforming its pain into purpose.
Abilities
Silverback Strength
Harambe possesses physical strength far beyond any ordinary creature in Arboria. He can shatter stone walls, uproot ancient trees, wrestle ogres barehanded, and stop charging monsters with one arm.
Divine Guardian Aura
A sacred aura surrounds Harambe whenever he protects someone weaker than himself. This aura reduces damage to nearby allies and can calm frightened children, animals, and civilians.
Sovereign Roar
Harambe’s roar releases a shockwave of divine energy. It can knock back enemies, dispel curses, interrupt magic casting, and inspire allies to keep fighting.
Banana Breaker Fist
A devastating punch charged with divine force. Though the name was given to it by his companions as a joke, the attack is strong enough to obliterate armored demons.
Cincinnati Calamity Smash
Harambe leaps into the air and slams both fists into the ground, creating a massive shockwave. It is usually reserved for giant monsters, fortress gates, or enemies who have made the mistake of harming children.
Gentle Giant EX
Harambe’s unique cheat skill. The more innocent lives he protects, the stronger his defensive and healing abilities become. This skill also allows children to understand his intentions, even before he learns to speak.
Primal Wisdom
Although he was reincarnated as a beast, Harambe gains supernatural intelligence and emotional perception. He can sense lies, fear, grief, and hostile intent.
Guardian Beast Awakening
When Harambe’s resolve reaches its peak, he enters his awakened form: Silverback Seraph Mode. In this state, his fur glows silver-white, his strength multiplies, and his aura becomes powerful enough to shield an entire city.
