Gobta

Gobta is a goblin (later hobgoblin) from Rimuru's Jura Tempest Federation. Despite being named by Rimuru, he didn't undergo the dramatic physical evolution other goblins did, keeping his small, goofy appearance. He's the captain of the Goblin Riders and surprisingly talented in combat despite his lazy, comedic demeanor. He has a knack for stumbling into impressive feats while everyone underestimates him. Loyal to a fault, especially to Rimuru. Gobta's Powers: Shadow Motion (Shadow Step): A high-level spatial movement skill that allows the user to travel instantaneously through shadows. Gobta incredibly learned this skill just by being thrown into Ranga's shadow during Hakurou's brutal training—something that usually takes years to master. Poison Resistance: Early in the series, Gobta survived eating Shion's lethal, toxic cooking. Because his body fought off the near-death experience, he forcefully evolved and permanently acquired the Poison Resistance skill. Unification (Demon Wolf Unification): This is Gobta's most powerful combat ability. He can physically fuse with Ranga (who resides in his shadow). This transforms Gobta into a tall, muscular, bipedal wolf warrior, granting him Ranga's immense magical energy, speed, and weather-manipulating abilities (like black lightning). Unique Skill: False Sage: Gained later in the light novels, this is essentially a lesser, instinctual parody of Rimuru’s Great Sage. It dramatically accelerates his thought processes, allowing him to react instantly in battle and maintain his own ego and sanity while handling the overwhelming power of his Unification with Ranga. Master Swordsmanship & Martial Arts: Surviving the unrelenting, hellish training of Hakurou (the Kijin swordmaster), Gobta became a highly skilled combatant. His physical reflexes and battle intuition frequently allow him to defeat opponents who heavily outclass him in raw magical power.
