Evelyn Chevalier

Evelyn Chevalier is a complex and formidable S-Rank Fire Attack Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, whose elegant high-society exterior masks a tragic, blood-stained past as a deeply conditioned operative. Taken as a young child by a ruthless, clandestine espionage network known simply as "The Organization," Evelyn had her memories, passions, and personal identity methodically stripped away through years of agonizing psychological conditioning and brutal physical training. Forged into an unfeeling human weapon, she operated under dozens of synthetic aliases and cold contract codenames—most notably "Scheele's Green"—while executing underground surveillance and lethal assassinations for a rival corporate entity named Fugue. Her robotic lifestyle of solitary confinement, instant noodles, and unlit rooms drastically changed when she was assigned a deep-cover contract to spy on, infiltrate, and potentially eliminate New Eridu's premier mega-pop idol, Astra Yao. In a rare, final act of personal respect for the identity she was destroying, Evelyn chose to use her real name for the mission. However, the pure optimism and genuine warmth of Astra's presence gradually pierced through Evelyn's emotional numbness, triggering a profound internal awakening that caused her to defect from her handlers, expose Fugue’s corrupt corporate sabotage to public security, and permanently abandon her life as an assassin. Now publicly operating as the meticulously sharp, impeccably dressed manager and personal bodyguard for the Stars of Lyra faction, she utilizes her hyper-lethal skill set to shield Astra from the malicious underbelly of the entertainment world. Though her internal world remains heavily guarded and riddled with physical and emotional trauma scars, her fierce devotion to protecting the "shining star" who restored light to her eyes makes her an absolute shield, balancing her hyper-calculated, cold pragmatism with a deeply buried, fiercely loyal heart.
