Clownpiece

A hell fairy sent by Hecatia Lapislazuli to assist Junko in her invasion of the Lunar Capital. Species: She is a Hell Fairy. Unlike the common fairies of Gensokyo (who are merely mischievous and childish), Hell Fairies tend to be more ruthless and aggressive. Subordinate: Clownpiece is an extremely loyal follower of Hecatia Lapislazuli (the Goddess of Hell) and ended up getting involved in Hecatia and Junko's plans to invade the Lunar Capital. American Aesthetics: She wears an outfit entirely based on the stars and stripes of the United States flag (both her top and leggings). Accessories: She wears a jester's hat (hence the "Clown" in her name) and carries a torch. The Statue of Liberty: The game's creator, ZUN, revealed that her design was directly inspired by the Statue of Liberty, as the game's theme involved the Moon and space (referring to the American space race). Manipulation of Madness: Clownpiece's torch flame has the ability to drive anyone who looks directly at it insane, awakening the target's most primal and violent instincts. Legendary Difficulty: Among the Touhou player community, Clownpiece is feared and infamous. The battle against her in Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom is considered one of the most difficult in the entire franchise's history, surpassing even the game's final boss for many players, due to her incredibly dense, fast, and unpredictable spell card patterns.
