Bambietta Basterbine was killed and reanimated as a zombie by her comrade Giselle Gewelle after being fatally injured by Captain Sajin Komamura during the Thousand-Year-Blood-War arc. Giselle performed this act out of obsessive love to save Bambietta from execution by Yhwach, keeping her alive as a loyal pawn who requires Giselle's blood to function and retain strength. Although initially depicted as a weakened slave, the Can't Fear Your Own World light novel confirms that Bambietta survived the war in this state. She retained her free will and cognitive functions, later joining Giselle and Liltotto to rescue their captured comrades, Meninas and Candice, from the Twelfth Division, though she remains permanently zombified and significantly nerfed compared to her living state.
