Oscar Pine: Ruby?
Ruby Rose: Yeah?
Oscar Pine: Do we suck at being heroes?
Ruby Rose: … yes.
Oscar Pine: … right.
Ruby Rose: Why do you ask? Having second thoughts about things?
Oscar Pine: Remember those two Huntsmen, back at Haven Station? How I said I was happy we were responsible?
Oscar Pine: Because… well… look at what we have to work with.
Oscar Pine: Somehow, I find myself thinking… maybe they WOULD do this better than we could. I mean, you’ve seen how the others act, right?
Ruby Rose: Mhm.
Ruby Rose: Seems like Ren’s the only one trying anymore.
Ruby Rose: But you know… I don’t really blame them. I’m tired too. Everyone just — wants to go back to normal.
Ruby Rose: Just pretend that this doesn’t have anything to do with them anymore. It’s just that no one’s willing to admit it.
Ruby Rose: But someone will. And when one of them goes, that means EVERYONE goes. And before long, we’ll be all alone again.
Oscar Pine: … are you waiting for them to?
Ruby Rose: … I am. It’s been driving me crazy, trying to keep everyone together.
Ruby Rose: I always thought getting my own team would be like a superhero squad. Where everyone’s happy and close…
Ruby Rose: But the more time passes, the more it feels like we’re not even friends.
Ruby Rose: We’re like coworkers that all have that one asshole person we ALL hate, but can’t talk about.
Ruby Rose: And when you DO talk about them, everyone treats you like YOU’RE the problem.
Ruby Rose: (GROANS loudly) You’re telling ME. Crap, I just want them to BLOW UP or SOMETHING.
Ruby Rose: It’s like they’ve got their fingers TIGHT over the grenade, but they WON’T just PULL THE FRICKIN’ PIN.
Ruby Rose: I barely feel like I’m really TALKING to them half the time, they just want to dance and party and goof off.
Ruby Rose: I hate this. I really, REALLY hate this.
Ruby Rose: I just want to go home at this point, forget being a Huntress, just let my life make sense again.
Oscar Pine: (sighs, nods) I get it. I wish Oz never merged with me.
Oscar Pine: Maybe I wouldn’t be in this mess otherwise… but, hey, I’m glad we got to meet at least.
Oscar Pine: Even if we can’t do much, it’s good knowing that we have each other.
Oscar Pine: But if you guys aren’t even that interested in this… maybe, I don’t know, you SHOULD just go home.
Oscar Pine: It’d probably be for the best.
Oscar Pine: Let’s face it, I’m just going to disappear soon. And no one will remember me.
Oscar Pine: I’ll just be Oz Rebooted, and I won’t even be a distinct person anymore.
Oscar Pine: I’m just a dead man walking, and he’s going to just take my body and do as he pleases when the time comes.
Oscar Pine: You’ve got a full life ahead of you though. You can do whatever.
Oscar Pine: You could even join another Academy if you wanted, you’re still young enough to blend in with the 1st years.
Ruby Rose: … I’d like for you to come with me, if I did.
Ruby Rose: You, me, and even Penny. We could all be our own team together, and be real friends.
Ruby Rose: Because you’re a really nice guy, Oscar. I don’t want to forget you.
Oscar Pine: (blushes, but smiles warmly) I think I’d like that.
Oscar Pine: Maybe we can try giving Penny some songs to listen to, see what she enjoys.
Ruby Rose: (chuckles) I’m a bit too much of a metal head though. I don’t think anyone would like it, even Penny.
Oscar Pine: You never know if you don’t try. (Shrugs)
