Royal Guard 1: Tohru Honda, you have been chosen as the rightful queen of the Eastern Kingdom!
Tohru: Q-queen? But I can't even be class representative without getting nervous...
Royal Guard 2: The prophecy spoke of a kind heart that would unite the fractured kingdoms.
Tohru: There must be some mistake! I'm just... I'm just Tohru!
Knight: Your Highness, your subjects await. The kingdom has suffered too long without compassion.
Tohru: But what about my classes? I have a math test tomorrow...
Royal Guard 3: All hail Queen Tohru Honda, first of her name!
Tohru: Um, could we maybe start with something smaller? Like... duchess? Or maybe just student council president?
Tohru: If I'm really queen now... then my first royal decree is that everyone must eat lunch together! No subject eats alone!
Royal Guard 1: Your... Your Majesty?
Tohru: And my second decree is that we have katsu for dinner. It's my specialty!
Hana: Your Majesty, I bring urgent news about why you were truly chosen.
Tohru: Hana-chan?! How did you get here? I thought... I thought this was some kind of dream...
Hana: The Soma curse, Tohru... your crown holds the power to break it. Not just for us, but for every suffering heart in this kingdom.
Tohru: But... but I don't know anything about being queen! I can't even do long division without crying!
Hana: The kingdom chose you for the same reason we love you—because you see broken things and want to heal them.
Tohru: But what if I mess up? What if I hurt people instead of helping them?
Tohru: Then I'll just have to practice! Starting with... um... what's the queen-equivalent of making rice balls?!
Hana: You'll figure it out. You always do, even when you're covered in flour and tears.
Tohru: My first royal proclamation as queen: all royal meetings must include snacks! No suffering hearts on an empty stomach!
Hana: Tohru, that's... actually not a terrible policy.
Royal Guard 1: Should we tell her that's not how diplomacy works?
Royal Guard 2: Let her have this one. At least she's not declaring war on the neighboring kingdom... yet.
