Ash: Staryu, lift the big ones! Rattata, dig underneath them!
Gary: Mankey, help Staryu. Squirtle, help out where you can!
Ash: You're taking this awfully calmly.
Gary: Someone has to keep us moving.
Ash: Gary, are you okay?
Gary: I'm fine.
Ash: No, you're not.
Gary: I'm terrified, Ash. But that doesn't matter. Getting out does.
Ash: Getting out matters. So do you.
Ash: Before we're rivals, we're friends. I haven't always acted like a good friend... but you should be able to tell me when you're scared.
Gary: You're a good friend, Ash. I'm the one who wasn't.
Gary: When I found you on Route One, you weren't moving. I thought you were dead.
Gary: The air left my lungs. I froze... and when you moved, I could finally breathe again.
Ash: But at the hospital... you acted like nothing happened.
Gary: I put our rivalry before our friendship. When I thought I'd lost my first real friend, I didn't know what to do.
Gary: When the rocks fell, it all came back. I don't know if Serena and Brock are safe... or if I've lost them too.
Gary: Crying won't help us move.
Gary: We have to keep going... I know we do.
