Story transcript

Megamind: I know you hate visitors, but—

Metro Man: Then why are you here, little blue?

Megamind: Because the city needs—

Metro Man: The city needs to learn saving itself.

Megamind: You think I wanted this? Being the last resort?

Megamind: Every time I fix something, they remember I'm the villain who broke it first.

Metro Man: You think villains get monopoly on being tired?

Metro Man: I spent thirty years being perfect. Do you know what perfect gets you?

Metro Man: It gets you a museum nobody visits and a city that only loved the idea of you.

Megamind: So we both failed at being what they wanted.

Megamind: Difference is, I can't quit. My DNA won't let me.

Metro Man: You know what I learned in exile? Heroes aren't made by powers or intentions.

Metro Man: They're made by showing up the day after they failed. And the day after that.

Megamind: Sounds exhausting.

Metro Man: It is. That's why I chose guitar.

Megamind: Keep it. Plays Wonderwall in seventeen languages.

Metro Man: You know I can't—

Megamind: I'm not asking you to save the city. Just... don't let it forget what saving looks like.

Metro Man: Hey, little blue?

Metro Man: Next time you visit, bring coffee. Hero work's easier when you're awake.
