My dear brothers and sisters, it is with a heavy heart that I must share news from our world. Pope Francis has passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.

His landmark encyclical "Laudato Si'" called us all to action on protecting our shared home - this beautiful world the gods have given us.
Priestess
He taught us that caring for the earth is not separate from caring for each other.
Priestess
Throughout his ministry, he championed the cause of the poor, the forgotten, and those displaced from their homes.
Priestess
Like our own order teaches, he believed mercy and compassion should guide our hands in all things.
Priestess
He faced darkness within his own church bravely, seeking transparency and justice for victims of abuse.
Priestess
He showed us that true faith requires courage to confront wrongdoing, even among those we trust.
Priestess
His teachings remind me of why I chose this path after... after what happened in those caves.
Priestess
That mercy can exist alongside justice. That the vulnerable deserve our protection.
Priestess
We may face goblins and monsters in our world, but Pope Francis fought different battles - against poverty, indifference, and institutional corruption.
Priestess
May the Earth Mother welcome him home, and may we honor his memory by continuing his work in our own way.

Though I suspect Goblin Slayer would just ask if the Pope ever killed any goblins...
